London Fashion Week S/S2010 - Fashion East - Michael Van Der Ham

LONDON FASHION WEEK S/S2010 - FASHION EAST - MICHAEL VAN DER HAM

With his graduation collection inspired by the dresses created by Andy Warhol for the Fashion is Fantasy exhibition in the 1970s, Michael Van Der Ham appeared to maintain this theme for his first collection to be shown at London Fashion Week. His masterful skills clashed weighty brocades with balenciaga-esque florals, a sharp shoulder with a delicately ruched, knits with jersey, and a mini -skirt paired asymmetrically with a flowing, floor length section.

Glittering eighties bandeau minis were updated when teamed with loose, draped sleeves, and a floor length finale dress, in a delicate golden knit, inset with jersey and brocade, concluded a collection, which whilst along the same lines as his graduate pieces, presented a greater ease and lightness for summer, and firmly positioned Michael Van Der Ham as one to keep an eye on.
