Milan Fashion Week S/S2010 - Antonio Marras

MILAN FASHION WEEK S/S2010 ANTONIO MARRAS

Whereas idiosyncrasy usually reigns supereme in London, a feminine girly aesthetic pervaded much of the capital's shows, and as the editors moved on to Milan the trend appears to have followed. Antonio Marras's S/S10 show bounded with feminine touches; sheer marbled fabrics were layered in ruffles, combined together with seguins and tulle in fanciful patchwork, hitting just above the knee in etheral shades of mint green, baby blue, pink and cream.

Straw hats perched atop heads, tumbling knee-high socks, lace embellished slips and dresses jauntily falling from shoulders, added to an air of dishelleved romanticism. More structured pieces such as floral print cropped jackets and waist-tied shorts, together with classic bretons addded a more mature edge, resulting in an all-encompassing collection which delicately epitomised the impending trend for all things feminine.
