MILAN FASHION WEEK S/S2010 – DOLCE AND GABBANA
Dolce and Gabbana returned to their nineties roots to present a darkly playful and flirtatious Spring/Summer collection. Masculine tailoring, all cropped jackets, and high waisted jodphur pants in black satin, elaborate fringe cascading from hips and overlaying lace slips and mesh floor length dresses, evolving into lace which embellished ra-ra skirts and accentuated busts and hips gave a refreshingly defiant nod to the distinct brand of Dolce and Gabbana sexiness.
Clashed floral prints on bloomers and chiffon summer dresses and denim numbers - replete with sweetheart necklines and spaghetti straps - installed both a playfulness and a modern re-interpretation of nineties classics. The shoes; mesh ankle boots, what appeared to be leather leg-warmers and multi-strapped almost bondage sandals, look set to bless every woman's wish list, crowning a collection that resounded with an unabashed and infectious evocation of the past, with a simultaneously firm eye on the future.
