Paris Fashion Week S/S2010 - Haider Ackermann

PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S2010 – HAIDER ACKERMANN

Fusing military elements with his own sensual take on femininity, Haider Ackermann brought a soft glamour to a hardy conceit. Utilitarian pocketing was softened with layers of taupe, and halterneck cuts, and when teamed with Haider's signature leatherwork revealed a shamefully underlooked zone - that slice of flesh between bust and shoulder.

Parachuting apparatus was transformed in sinuous silks, and utilised in tied-waisted shorts, and an exquisitely draped yellow jumpsuit, which - cinched at the waist with what appeared to be a webbing belt -  recalled its original utilitarian purpose whilst concurrently exuding an eveningwear elegance.

Draped evening gowns - again with twisted halter-necks - came in a confluence of shades. A lilac number, cinched at the waist with asymmetric pocketing adorning the bust and cascading down the thighs to a longer back was a show standout, whilst creased silk combat trousers, midnight blue bermuda shorts, and evening dresses upon evening dresses too navigated the utilitarian conceit with sophisticated ease

An astoundingly simple finale gown, draped over one shoulder to reveal an expanse of bare skin,  hinted at a woman who had weathered the storm of warfare, all the while decked in a refined uniform of Haider Ackermann.
