Paris Fashion Week S/S2010 - Nina Ricci

PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S2010 – NINA RICCI

Following Olivier Theyksen's resoundingly successful A/W 09 swansong was always going to be a difficult task, and Peter Copping - with his first collection at Nina Ricci - rather than emulate the gothic, powerful darkness of Theyksens - and echoing the general mood of the season - presented a romantic and feminine woman.

Skirts cut just above the knee in tiered and panelled satin, sheer blouses and camisoles in delicate blushes and nudes and strapless cocktail dresses, exploding into layers of cream and baby blue tulle, conjured a notion of underwear as outwear and propagated a delicate feminine sensibility. Floor length evening gowns in navy and nude, cinched at the waist and bursting into ruffles concluded a collection that looks certain to bring Copping's core audience to the Nina Ricci label.
